Is there a good, preferably free, satellite tracking program? Also, right now since i just have a scanner, are there satellites that emit a tone as they pass? Something I can just hear for now? Thanks
I often use Heavens-Above Home Page. You pick your city and there is a number of options for visible as well as radio ameteur satllites. I have picked up ISS going overhead. Will depend a lot on antenna and scanner.
My all time favorite satellite tracking software is WXtrack! They have tons of customised icons and maps including the Russian Soyuz, Progress and ISS icons that are identical to NASA's own tracking software used at the ISS mission control center.
