Looking to see if anyone has a scan of the SBE Optiscan SB-12SM 10 channel scanner that they would be willing to share?

The Optiscan was the first programmable scanner I owned and am for some unknown reason looking to buy one... But every listing on most of the forums arent listing a manual so I dont want to buy one till I can locate the frequency code portion of the manual.

Any of the links on the forum here are all apparently dried up so still looking.

Any assistance is appreciated

I might Steve. Give me a couple of days and I’d be happy to make a copy and send it to you if I can find it.

The attached Excel spreadsheet calculates Optiscan codes for programming cards. As always with these kinds of files, do a virus scan before running Excel macros. It came up clean when I scanned it before posting. The instruction manual without program codes and a schematic can be found at mods.dk if you need those.

Perfect! Thanks for the find and share! Did so much searching and was just not able to find the resource, now its available here!

Again, thanks for taking the time to share the spreadsheet!

That's kinda cool. I never knew SBE made scanners. I have a few of their CB's and they're extremely well made.

Sorry about posting a manual already posted. My link does include a Schematic as well if needed to repair.

Another option for programming codes is this program on an earlier posting. It's posted for a Realistic Comp100 scanner but also works for others as the text file reads:

The first programmable scanners came on the market back in
the mid 70's. These radios all had an unfriendly user
interface that required entering long code strings to
program a frequency. A thick code book was supplied with
each radio to allow users to look up the code for a given
frequency and then enter it into the radio.

Many of these old radios are still around but unfortunately
the companion code book often is lost. SCANPROG was written
to replace the code book for all of the popular old code
entry scanners. The radios it supports are listed below.

SBE Optiscan
Regency ACT-W10
Tennelec MS-1 and MS-2
Bearcat 101
Sears 5 Band Cardomatic
Realistic COMP-100

None of these radios can receive above 512 MHz but some of
them do a good job in the ranges they cover and are worth
putting into service.
