Seen a lot of VHF freqs for SAR. Today they had a massive search going down in the sys. 8 area. They used ATAC-1.. all day... Do they still use any VHF any more before I waste time programming the VHF freqs. in my scanner?????? Dont know any one with SAR, or i would ask my self,,,,,,

S AND R still uses VHF

Yes, they still use VHF. I believe they try to use 800mhz if they can, but since it does not work in every "canyon", they have a 16 channel VHF plan that is listed in the database under San Bernardino County. There are several "stand-alone" VHF repeaters throughout the county for that purpose.
