SC230, Ex speaker+car charger

Hi Guys,
I have been tying to use my scanner while driving, problem is I drive a landrover which is a bit on the noisey side to say the least.. So, I bought an external speaker that plugs into the scanner jack, not much diference except I can move speaker location.
Is there an amplified speaker available or a possible setup with an ampilfier someone could advise on?
I am also looking for an in car charger/power supply, anyone know where I can buy online?

Don't know about an amplifier, but we've had problems from the start with the SC230 not being loud enough at the track. Quick and easy fix we found is to short the resistor closest to the volume potentiometer. Voids your warranty, but it makes the scanner louder.

You might want to take a look at this amplified speaker. The volume and sound quality are incredible and for $15 plus shipping you can't go wrong. Looks like they only have one left and after that it will be really hard to find another one.

It will require some wiring mods, but they are pretty easy and if your interested, I'll send them on to you.

I just plug mine into the headunit (stereo). Works fine, plus I don't listen to the radio anyway.

I use this in my car, feeding into an external unamplified speaker, and it's a real winner for the price.
