Howdy! New to the forum here, but I have a question on what I'm about to do to the antenna to the SC230 and before I buy anything, I just want y'alls answer to whether or not it'll work.
I own a uniden SC230 scanner, I got it in my room, stays on all the time. I scan the FAA, Railroad, and local fire depts. The antenna I have on there right now is the long antenna that came with it from Uniden, but I would like to be able to pick up more range than what it's currently picking up. I was thinking about getting a NMO antenna mount with a BNC connector at the end and mounting L bracket to the house, and for the antenna I was thinking about getting this Larsen 134-174 MHz NMO Wide Band Field Tunable Antenna (NMOWB150). Correct me if I'm wrong, but should the Larsen antenna pick up any frequency that I've entered into my scanner? Because the 134-174 I believe is for transmitting? But anyways I'd really appreciate it if i got some answers to this question before I start buying.
