Issue: Signal indicator shows 5 bars strength with active channel traffic when scanning, but scanner does not stop on active channel (continues scanning) nor is there audio. However, if I press HOLD on active channel, there is audio.
Background: Scanner newbie with BC346XTC in Monterey County, CA. Set up manually (have Mac, no PC). RadioReference indicates LTR and P25 (with analog overlay) systems in place, but that P25 system may still be in testing (began implementation in 2010). Set up system as LTR, input selected frequencies (Monterey County Public Safety System) currently programmed on my fire radio (Kenwood TK-5210). Manual indicates MOT, EDCS, LTR as valid trunked system types, not clear how I would input a P25 system. Under LTR, did not see anyplace to enter RX CTCSS tones.
Would appreciate help with possible set-up errors. Thanks!
