what do you all think about scancat for the pro-106 (when it comes out) and the win-500 for the 106? what would you all recommend and witch one is easier for a new user

I don't know anything about Scancat, but Win500 is really nice. Remember that Win500 has a free 30-day trial.

I would recommend WIN-500. The interface is very intuitive, and Don Starr of Starrsoft regularly provides free updates for the program, and addresses questions and problems VERY well (he's DonS in the forums). In addition, as a premium (as in paid) subscriber to RadioReference, you can download systems directly into WIN-500. Also, many people on the forums have WIN-500 files they will share. You can't go wrong getting WIN-500, especially with the free trial.

Scancat = EPIC FAIL

Win500 without a doubt. Don does an excellent job with this software.
