Scancat/win97 Question

Just got a new pro97.Nice!RS programed the first 2 banks using scancat.
I want to try win97.Question? Do I need to clear(delete)the scanner of what RS
did to use win97.Thanks,Dan

No just use WIN97 to download what is in the scanner, then add or change what you want. How the scanner was programed doesn't matter, WIN97 can read what is in the scanner.

1st ) Make sure you have the correct cable RS#20-289 (serial-pc/if) or the NEW GRE( usb -
pc/if) @ greamerica.com.
2nd) You can dowload & save the RS Scancat program files using WIN 97.
3rd) The 97 also comes pre-program Chan 000 - 154,Turn Off scanner ,then turn On,
When Multi-system Trunking System appears,Press PGM,Press 1(doing this will replace
what's in Chan 000-154.)this is a great set of general radio frequecies.You can also
dowload & save w/win 97.
4th) Remember when you upload will wipe out what ever you have in the scanner.
But between these two files you can pick the frequencies you want and add or remove
from these files.
5th) Remember to have fun and win 97 makes it easy ???

Ok,I keep getting( time out looking for header)when I try to down load from scanner to win97.
What am I doing wrong???

Check the help file, getting started,go to connecting to scanner ,this page has info about
problems downloading .

1. Make sure the scanner is tuirned on
2. Check the com port to see if it the one you have the scanner pluged into
3. If you have a PDA close all of it's software (PDA's lock out a com port)
The message is saying it cant see the scanner, or something else has the com port.
