I have had issues with scanner cast ever since i started broadcasting. The feed doesn't stay up and running for more the 5 hours. I have tried uninstalling and re installing the program with no improvements, i know for a fact it is not my internet connection because it has failed while i'm browsing the internet. Is there any other programs offered that are more reliable? I would like to be able to feel comfortable going out of town without having to worry about the feed going down. If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I run RadioFeed on mine. I couldn't be happier with it. You can find that here: http://www.proscan.org/RadioFeed_2_2.zip All you have to do is input your username and password, all the rest is filled in automatically.

Downloaded Radio Feed and it's now up and running so we shall see how long it lasts. Do you keep your feed up constantly?

I haven't had a hiccup yet due to the software and I've had it since I started my feed back up in mid-September.

Redneck0410, Thanks for recommending RadioFeed. I try to make it the best.

zane018, If you are running the AVG anti-virus program, I would dump it as it doesn't play nice with any program that streams because it interrupts the TCP internet connection.

okay good, thanks

My feed broadcasts on a cable-modem connection hooked up to a computer that I'm on constantly, so the only time my feed goes down is when I run quick maintenance tasks on it (Normally once a week, but only for 10-15 minutes, then the feed goes right back up). If there's anything else we can do for you, we're here to help.

I also switched to RadioFeed and I've been up for over a week straight with no interruption. ProScan - it still didn't help my alpha tag situation but I've concluded it's either a bad driver for the USB cable or something in Server crashing the virtual COM port.. Still haven't been able to fix it.. But I figure I'll give you a thumbs up for your program because it's been flawless in itself - I like it a lot better than Scannercast.. :)

Does the USB converter show up in the Device Manager in the Ports (COM & LPT) section? If no then the driver issue needs to be resolved. If yes then in RadioFeed, choose the same port number. The RadioFeed baud rate should be the highest and the scanner baud rate should be the highest. What kind of scanner?

Well it looks like this program is failing for me just like scanner cast. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Are you using AVG virus scanner? It doesn't play well with these programs.

"How" is it failing? Is the program crashing? Is the feed disconnecting and unable to reconnect? Does the program claim that it is streaming when it is on fact not?

Sent from my Galaxy SII using some Tappity Talkity thing.

The feed will go offline however when i look at the program everything looks normal. It only works again if i restart the program.

Hmm... Is it actually sending? Like are the TX/RX Data figures increasing?

You might want to PM GordonE, he's the stream administrator. Maybe he can look into what the server is seeing and help nail it down. FWIW, it is showing as online right now.

Okay, Kingscup suggested the possibility that AVG may have an issue with it. Apparently i had a AVG toolbar so i uninstalled that and so far so good, (knock on wood!!) ;)
