hi iam new to the scanning game.live in the western isles in scotland.i have a bearcat ubc120xlt.it has some codes stored in it.iam looking for list of codes if anyone can help.

hi morfis.im looking for frequancy codes to put in to my scanner.local codes if possible.regards will.

I think these "codes" you're talking about are actually frequencies. Probably the best thing you can do is find someone nearby that knows radios, and talk to them about what is used in your area.

hi krokus thank you for the advice i will try that.there are no radio clubs that i no off up here.i have seen cds on ebay but not sure if they would be any good.regards will

There is a yahoo group aimed at Scottish scanner enthusiasts: Scottish-Scanning : Radio Scanning Group for Scottish users.
For amateur radio in Scotland try: Amateur Radio in Scotland though I don't know of any club on the isles.
The radio society of good buddies may know of a local amateur radio club: Radio Society of Great Britain - Amateur radio news, information and resources

I'd steer clear of eblag CDs (and the uk scanning directory) as they are generally out of date or else copies of things you'll find in the yahoo groups
