Forgive me if this has been documented already. I have already setup a feed using oddcast/shoutcast but it's on a very old PC that's not currently hooked up. What I'd like to now do, is to be able to place my live feed with alpha tags on a website I'm not using right now.

I'd like to be able to have a live scanner "face" like the pic below.

Is this possible ?

Thanks,

Steve

Sure it's possible. You'd have to write your own program to do it, but it's possible. In fact, almost ANYTHING is possible.

As we say in the software business, "It's just a simple matter of code, time, and hardware."

Hey Peter,

Well I can do a lot of things and I'm good with CAD, CAM, ETC. but not doing anything like that. Maybe I should have left out the "possible" part and asked if there are any apps for it. It seems that I've seen a site somewhere that had a scanner "face" and would show live freqs and TGs with live audio but I can't find it now.

On another note, I take it that's your Bernese Mountain Dog on your avatar ?

I have a 3 year old male BMD (Andy) and man he's great !!!

Thanks,

Steve

Getting the web GUI stuff to be attractive is difficult.

There are a number of programs that let you run a Client application on your system, that connects over the internet to a server, in which the client application has a very attractive display. I don't RECALL seeing a program that does this with only a web browser, however.

Avatar: Thanks for asking. It's always fun to meet another BMD lover. That picture is my Berner Toby who died last September of cancer (we extended his life by an extra 9 month with chemotherapy). He was the best dog ever. This past month, we adopted an 11 month old BMD named Cooper who's terrific. Coop is presently recovering from knee surgery (torn CCL). Best to Andy!!!

Thanks Ed, that's great info, I'll check into that.

Peter, sorry to hear about Toby, that's the only bad part about BMD's is their health issues. Luckily Andy's doing great but I'm thinking about getting him dog health insurance now, I don't think it's too expensive, I hope not anyway. You can see him when he was a puppy in my avatar and not too long ago below and here: http://bernese.biz/friends2Andy.htm. I hope Coop is doing good!

Thanks guys,

Steve

@73Cuda/Steve,

Thanks for your good wishes, Steve. What a good looking guy Andy is!

I DO love those Berners...

I won't write more for fear of turning this into the BMD forum :)
