Ok, so I have a Kenwood TM-281a already installed in my truck, going directly to the battery. I would like to install a Uniden 996XT as well, and also have it able to run when the engine is off, and the key out of the ignition.
I have searched and searched, but have been unable to find any information on a suitable power distribution system for my needs. Here is what I'm looking for:
A box with one direct line running from the engine to it, then the ability to add multiple 12V items (radios, scanners, anything else I would like in the future) onto it.
I know I will need to keep track of the total amps being used, and put suitable fuses on the hot line coming from the battery.
Any suggestions?
