Im new to the area, and new to programming scanners.
I have a radioshack Pro-94 scanner and would like to get Santa Clara PD :)
i found this: Santa Clara, City of (Public Safety) Trunking System, Santa Clara, California - Scanner Frequencies

how would i go about programming this in?
possible?

i greatly appreciate any help!
i feel i can get a better understanding through you guys than endless reading online when im not sure what half of it really means or what im missing..

thanks again! -john

John,
Welcome to the forums!

Your PRO 94 is capable of having those frequencies plugged in, but your radio is not capable of tracking the system itself. The system you posted is a rebanded, MOTORLA TYPE II system, which means that some of the frequencies in that system have been shifted. The PRO 94 that you have is incapable of following rebanded systems. You can still plug in the listed frequencies into your radio and just scan them like normal and you will hear all the traffic that is listed, but you wont be able to follow a conversation between units and dispatch.

Your radio is still good for listening to conventional, non-digital radio traffic from the surrounding area just fine.

If your really into listening to Santa Clara Public Safety, then you will have to invest in a rebandable trunk tracking scanner.

Here is a link to a list of those radios: Category:Rebanding Supported Scanners - The RadioReference Wiki
