let me know if this worked rite
See if this attached file works.

You had a lot of duplications in your talkgroups, with most of them not linked to the site in your immediate area. I created a single trunked system, which has the frequencies for the three counties you included (Carter, Love, & Murray), set as a multi site system, & also to check for control channels in range.

I did not weed out the duplicated talkgroups. But remember that if you want to divide them up, the same TGID can be assigned to more than one scanlist. So, you could have a list for what you can hear in Carter County, and turn the others off, or the same TGID can also be set for other lists, like a scanlist for what you can hear in Murray or Love County. You can also have certain talkgroups, such as those linked to state agencies, that are assigned to all scanlists.

You may already know this, but there is a user guide for ARC500 in the Wiki.

Steve, do you have a copy of the OP's original ARC500 file before revisions?
That's the (renamed) "Ardmore" file I sent you. I imported his file into ARC500, then saved it under the Ardmore name.

But here's the original.

okieman98 what kind of antenna are you using? There are no OKWIN sites close to Healdton. The Ardmore site is about 20 miles away. Steve and I both agree that an outdoor antenna may be necessary for your location. I also notice that your are missing some of the conventional frequencies in Carter County such as Healdton Fire. There are no talkgroups listed in the database for Carter, Murray, and Love Counties. You may try adding wildcards to your scan lists to search for any new talkgroups. Steve did a revised file to reduce the redundancy in your programming. You can add the new conventional frequencies and wildcards to that file. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted file with ARC500 and Upload to Scanner.

ok thank u , sorry with all the trouble with the zip files since windows updated a few agao kinda had some trouble with it. this will be used in a truck that runs mostly i 35 from okc to dallas i have a magnetic tram antenna hooked to it but inside for now till i can work out programing , but we often travel other parts of the state when needed ' to help. i have a second scanner that runs conventional frequencies, it is meant to monitor the new ok win and p25 phase one and two also since tribil has now a state wide and okla is now reservation with there own eoc and everything updating is a pain . i have dmr for the others in the state that use that type of communication. this is a attempt to build a base scanner file to be uploaded to about 5 scanners. we buy all our own stuff and are also hams my call sign is wx1bwm we help find and document damage for eoc and nws in the state and north texas. all volunteer work since most of us all are retired. we help give information to them so it will help determine if a survey is needed from storms. i am also sent to some large wildfires with mobile data equipment to monitor weather conditions in that area. we run a robust set ups in our trucks. from cell network with pep waves, cell boosters, laptops, radar ,ham radio, scanners, live feed streaming , inverters i guess i should have told yah that might have made it easier to understand why it was programed that way. not heard of the wild card thing but will get the book back out and read up on that and how to set it up once again thanks for the help and time u spent to help me.

any suggestion on how to program for multiple areas

Basically, each "V-file" is a complete programming file. Once you get it set up, you park it in one of the available folders.

So, V-scan folder 1 could be what you use in your home area. Folder 2, say, for the Oklahoma City area, 3 for the "Red River counties" in Texas (Montague, Cooke, & Grayson for example. Your software will let you create these then save them where you want, so that when headed to a different area (or after you arrive), with a few keystrokes you can make your scanner ready for where you are.

My PSR500, the GRE manufactured handhel dscanner (current Whistler equivalent would be the WS1040) would have several folders loaded. One for just my 'home area' in Dallas County, a "Metro" folder that encompassed portions of the surrounding counties, a "Trip" file I used when making a fairly regular run out to visit friends a little southwest of Possum Kingdom Lake, then a 'Stephens County file to concentrate on what I could hear while their. It only takes a minute or two to switch programming via a V-folder.
