First off, I'm not sure where this post should go. If it needs to be moved please let me know!!!

So I'm sitting in my room and a friend of mine was charging his cell phone and was texting/on the internet and his key presses, texts etc were coming through on my scanner (BC345CRS) on a neighboring county frequency. (Perry County Fire 1 46.200) What could be causing this?

Thanks All!

Oscillator frequencies in the phone and your scanner are mixing causing false freqs to appear in your scanner.
One time I had my handheld scanner up monitor a neighbor's ambulance call when my brother-in-laws cell phone rang, he was standing beside me. Once he hit the answer button, my scanner locked on a frequency i had in my scanner list and I started to hear his conversation. That was the only time it ever happened but that was the same thing you are experiencing.
