Scanner Problem

I have the BC235 and every fourth day I cannot pick up any traffic to the talk groups here in Charleston County. Could I be missing a control channel or is it something else? Any help is appreciated.

The RR database shows these primary control channels for charleston county. 855.96250* 858.96250* 859.76250* 860.76250*
Do any of these match the one you have?

Look at the top of the page and click on the RR database link and look under south carolina if you need any more freqs

The next time your 235XLT doesn't appear to be receiving any talkgroups, come out of trunking mode and manually step through each of the programmed frequencies in your Charleston bank.

You should be able to hear the control data signal on one of the frequencies while stepping through the frequencies in manual mode.

If not, you're either too far from the trunked system sites, or you're missing one (or more) of the system frequencies. The 235 cannot do control-channel-only scanning, so you must have all the frequencies programmed to be able to follow all talkgroups.

If you had another trunked system previously programmed in the same bank, make sure the fleet map is set for E2.

Charleston County rarely changes their control channel and out of the 20 something freqs. they really use only about 5-6. Are you sure it's Chas Co. and not the City. They alternate control channels everyday so you have to make sure you have all 14 freqs. programmed.
