scanner question

hey guys, my nieghbor has a Uniden BC 245xlt Bearcat that im thinking of buying off him. I was wondering if this scanner will pick up LAPD trunked freqs, and how much is a fair price for the unit.

If I'm not mistaken I believe LAPD is DIGITAL CONVENTIONAL. What that means is that they use digital radios but are not trunked. If this is truly the case a BC-245 will do you no good whatsoever.
