In a couple of weeks I am going to be at Hartsfield International connecting for a flight. I will have my Pro 106 with me using the rubber ducky antenna that came with it. What can I realistically expect to receive (besides of course the airport). I will be programming it before I leave and want as much space as possible for my destination so I don't want to fill up my lists with stuff I cannot receive.

I figure I will be able to receive Clayton County. Will I be able to receive Atlanta, Fulton County, DeKalb County and Cobb County? For Cobb which site should I use, Atlanta?

Thanks for your help.

If you are just connecting and not leaving the airport, then I would suggest Atlanta and Fulton County. Those 2 alone will keep you busy. Atlanta has so much traffic it's hard to follow any incidents unless you lock out some zones.

Keep in mind that Hartsfield has its own Atlanta PD & FD unit, not to mention TSA. I find it fun to also listen airline operations and maintenance.

Rest assured there is plenty to listen to at the worlds busiest airport.

on a scanner, you should be able to get Atlanta's DTRS (used extensively for airport public safety), Fulton county's analog TRS, Clayton county's analog VHF/UHF systems- Cobb is doubtful- my XTS5000 shows "out of range" in many parts of the airport, Dekalb's DTRS should be receivable. And the MARTA DTRS should also make for interesting listening.

Delta has moved to MotoTRBO as have other airline ops, but there is still quite a bit of analog stuff. And then your friends at the TSA and CBP always make for fun listening:D

Thanks for all the replies. I had hoped to get Cobb because I lived there for 11 years before moving to Florida. I will definitely put in Clayton, Fulton and Atlanta and probably MARTA as well as the aviation stuff including airport PD, FD, TSA and airline company ops.

Does anyone know the specific CBP frequencies for the airport? I checked the database but didn't see them or I didn't look in the right spot.

Again thanks for all the assistance.
