Hi, I used to be into scanning and still have an older radio shack scanner. I'm wanting to upgrade to a great portable scanner that will do trunk tracking and the latest features.

What do you guys reccomend between $200-$300

I was looking at the Radio Shack Pro-95, any good?

I'd appreicate your suggestions, fyi I want to be able to fully monitor Iowa and illinois state patrol, Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island police. And other fun frequencies.

Thanks a bunch.

The pro 95 is a great choice if you don't need digital. Also another good choice would be the brand spankin new Uniden BC246T. If you need digital then get a pro96, but then you'll be getting out of your price range. Hope this helps.

Ya, if you can wait until september I would go for the new Uniden 246T. Hell, I have a pro-96 and I'll probally end up getting one of these bad boys!

I have a Pro-99 and it is the top-of-the-line RadioShack Portable. It is called a Racing Scanner but it isn't just that. You can pick up Marine, FRS, Military & Government, Law Enforcement, Aircraft, Ham Radio, Railroad, & TV and Radio. It's great for when your on the road a lot.

Anybody have a better scanner?
