I turned my unblocked BC200XLT off in 1996 (those were the good old days) and just turned it on again last week. I discovered that while I was asleep, practically all of my stored channels had become inactive and there was little to listen to. An email to Scannermaster support for a radio recommendation was answered with: "Some bad news... The city of San Antonio, TX is using a digital communications system that can't be monitored by any scanner made.
Considering what is left to listen to, could anyone suggest an appropriate scanner? I have considered a Uniden BC246T but wonder if it might be overkill for what's available in this county. Would a RS Pro-95 be good enough?

Any help would be most helpful and greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Get a digital scanner like the PRO-96 or even better the GRE PSR-500 if you can afford it. You can't listen to SAPD or BCSO unfortunately, but there is plenty to listen to if your in the city. Check out the database page and take a look.
