Scanner(s) with instant display during PL/DPL search

I am wondering what scanners have the PL/DPL search that instantly displays either the PL or DPL without having to select which one you want displayed. I have the BC796D now and it steps through the analog PLs sequentially. I have tried Radio Shack units that require the user to select either PL or DPL first. I think I have read that the BC246 will do this. Does anyone know if this is correct and if any other scanners will do this?

The 246 is instant (or nearly so) for both DCS and CTCSS..

The RS Pro-96 is also instant (or nearly so) for both DCS and CTCSS.

Only one I know of is the BC246T. It will display either instantly. BC898T MAY also do this, but I'm not positive about that one. BCD396T should do it when it comes out.

Pro-92/2067, Pro-96/2096 and the BC246T are the only scanners I know of that do it.

Yes, BUT the PRO-(20)96 won't decode both at the same time - you have to select the correct mode. IOW, it will only decode CTCSS OR CDCSS, but not both at the same time. That was one of the criteria.

You = correct. Me = wrong. Misread the post.

The 2067 I had, would display the wrong PL about 25% of the time. It was instant, just not always right :lol:

I've been using the 246T to log Pls at work. Works great.

I think the SC 230 does both intstantly without selecting which one to, but not sure about it. Also might want to check out the Pro-99.
