Thanks again for keeping us updated :D

It's sorta funny that the 2055 is going to be cheaper than the 97 though.

That's a first! I also noticed the 2055 regular price has came down from 229 to 199.

Forgive my stupidity, but who is having the sale? Radio Shack or private seller?

Is this an annual sale, or could they be clearing out inventory for a new model?

Could this mean the 2055 is not going to be re-banding supported?

Seeing as how NO ONE really knows how rebanding will work, and the dates are getting pushed back every day, I would not say that is the reason for the sale.

The OP is a RS employee, and he keeps us advised on future radio shack sales. He has not led us astray yet :)

RS has sales every two weeks, and some scanners are on sale atleast every other sale. I see little reason to ever pay full price, as the sales are often enough that waiting a few weeks will usually save a lot of money.

$400 for a Pro-96 is a good deal and I got one for that early this year.
So many problems with 2005 and 97 have been posted that I'm hesitante to get one, even it's got more hair than my old Pro-91 for VHF.

Basically it's got to be digital to be any real use here in Travis County, TX...
(Between the 91 and 96 I'm set til rebanding settles-out.)

There is a guy on here that sells the 96 and the 2096 for $435.

I think he adjusts his prices against RS,Hopefully he will come down to $335 now to match the difference lol

Well, I'm interested in a 2096 when it's $200 NEW. (Perhaps I'm dreaming though..)

I may be cheap, but I'm effective.

HI;
Just noted too on the website that the PRO-2052 is on clearance for $99.97. Great price for this scanner.

That's what it was during the winter, then it went back up to $149.97. It's a dated design, but it does have a lot of features for the determined scannist :D

bill,

Did you find any digital ones? I had to go to Leavenworth to get mine. The women there were literally brain dead. One left for lunch and took the keys to the area in the back where everything hi end was locked up. They couldn't find her and I had to wait an hour for her to get back.

But, they had the 2096 in stock for some reason.

Now, my problem is that I will spend the $50 in gas just to get back there to get my price difference refund.
