I heard that there was a scanner that did not have to program any frequencies that the scanner would automaticly find your county or area you live in. has anybody know what kind of scanner it is.

Pro-107 ?

Perhaps you are talking about the Radio Shack PRO-107. It comes with an SD memory card loaded with the entire RR database. So you select what you want to monitor like an iPod playlist.

One of the many links here

One word of caution... Depending upon what State and County you live in and what types of services you want to listen to; the Pro-107 may or may not cover the radio systems that are active in your area. Many Public Service systems are operating in digital mode, which the Pro-107 cannot receive.

Before diving in; make sure you know what type(s) of systems are active in your area and whether the Pro-107 is capable of handling those systems.

There are enough resources out there to find frequencies. Is it worth limiting yourself to one particular radio and the added expense for this feature?
