I have a uniden BC246T scanner. It is not picking up my channels if i re band does that help? I have install arc246 to reprogram and nothing

Please provide your county and state, and any specific agencies you are having trouble receiving. The 246 is a very old analog scanner, and may not receive much in your area.

Analog scanners aren't "junk", they are just limited to receiving analog traffic such as ham repeaters, GMRS, MURS, NOAA weather, etc. If you get a digital scanner, you can use it to monitor digital traffic, and still use your current scanner to monitor analog channels.

Look at what they are selling for on eBay--probably not much. You may be better off keeping it to monitor analog traffic.

Note that anything that doesn't say DMR, NXDN or Telm (telemetry) is a possibility. Even as relatively flat as Springfield is (I was on a contract assignment there), the little antenna that comes with these scanners is very poor. A better antenna is definitely in order here.

It is also possible to modify that scanner to feed into a PC to decode the DMR or NXDN, but that's a topic for another day...Mike
