Anyway to get a confirm box when closing the program via the "x"? I just accidentally clicked it when I meant to minimize. It would be nice to have a conformation there asking the user if they really want to exit the program and stop their feed :)

Thanks for the suggestion. It sound like a good one: Asking if the user REALLY wants to exit whenever they try to do so without first stopping the stream.

It can be done, of course. The difficulty is for ScannerCast to intelligently discriminate between a user clicking the "X" and the system shutting down ScannerCast for some other reason (such as, say, Windows being rebooted).

You'd think this would be easy... but it turns out it's not so easy to do without adding overhead.

I've put it on the work list for consideration -- Ticket #29 (though it appears that the work list on my web page is currently off line... sigh, another problem to fix!).

Thanks again for the suggestion,

Peter

No sweat, Peter. You have an excellent program, so incredibly easy to use and understand :)

Gee if this is going to be a thread about feature requests in ScannerCast, I'd like to add a few. The first one would be a bar graph that shows the signal level of the audio. Right now I am running other programs to show this, and it would be nice to not have to. This is a critical one for me because I am using those $1 USB sound cards that only have a mic input.

Thanks!

That would be a problem for those of us using an unattended auto-reboot.

Perhaps another method could be to add a "Close/Exit ScannerCast" button on the bottom, along with a checkbox option for "Minimize instead of close on X". I've seen that "minimize on X" option in other software to prevent closing, but of course now I can't recall what programs they were. AIM, perhaps?

That's been on his to-do list for many months. Review this page on his site for other already submitted and in-the-works suggestions.
