Heat had scanners in the armored car robber vehicles for monitoring the police comms.

Great movie.

The first Fast and Furious movie had some scanner use. Got to keep up with the cops if you are going to be street racing.

The news photographer, "Animal", on the Lou Grant television show had a bunch of scanners in his car.

Could see one way, way in the back round on "Lou Grant" and occasionally in the ER room on "Emergency."

Kolchak: The Night Stalker, and Darren McGavin again many years later in a couple episodes of X-Files showing his shack with a 1Och REGENCY {see my avatar}. The Amazing Spider-man, The Incredibles.

During the opening credits for the 70s series, "SWAT", you'd see a closeup of a Radio Shack Patrolman 8-channel scanner. Back then? Probably just the VHF Hi/Lo model such as the Pro-77.
