Since we all see the same kind of questions from newcomers about the DMA, Object Oriented scanners as well as the PRO-97 and their cousins, I've added a section to the Scanning 101 article to handle them.

Hopefully this can serve as a repository for the answers which usually tend to repeat themselves anyway. As always if you think something else belongs there, don't be afraid to add or correct it.
