I will be driving cross country from Ontario with my family later this summer and will have my BD796 with me. I would like to know if i can just program in the province wide frequencies for Manitoba to British Columbia to monitor the RCMP? And if there is anything else worth listening to on our way thru please let me know.

Thanks, Vance

These kinds of trips are where the Radio Shack Pro 96/2096 V FOLDER feature sure comes in handy. I say this because then you can program each province and the systems you wish to monitor into seperate folders and then just load them in as you pass through each province.

If you have a laptop with ARC capability perhaps someone will come up wih some ARC files for you to load in for each province. Good luck.

The frequencies you see in Alberta for the RCMP work everywhere in the province, so programming them into a bank will work fine for going along the TCH.

I can vouch for the area from Strathmore (~60km east of Calgary) west to the AB/BC provincial line, in this order:

B7 -> A4 -> B2 -> A6 -> A3 -> B6
(Strathmore, Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff, and Lake Louise)
