If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Scanning capacity plus with Motorola DP4600e radio

Hey all, I am having some trouble trying to figure out how I could scan a capacity plus system using a motorola radio. I had a TYT-MD380 that I was using to scan all 4 channels of the system, both frequencies on each time slot. I am authorized by the company that owns the system to listen in what's going on. I have configured the capacity plus system in the radio and it can tell if it is in/out of range. Only problem is that most of the calls are private calls. With the MD-380 I had an option for private call decoding, meaning I could hear private calls that were not pointed to my radio ID. Is there a way to acheive a similar result using a Motorola radio ?

Motorola will not be able to decode private calls unless you are the intended recipient

Thank you for the recommendation, but for almost 200$ I will pass 😬. That's more than what it'd cost to buy a TYT-MD380 and listen in with this instead. It doesn't even seem to support CAP+ that well.

Just buy a dmr scanner. Or use your md380 in promiscuous more via md380 tools
