scanning glitches

Hello to all listening to all those good radioes out there,



i got a freq that i know it is alive another words you know its active,
Well i wrote them two days ago ok.And they called to today and they help
me ,
rather i think they had helped ,So as i was going with the process he was telling me he thinks it a scanning glitch,But this just started about a week ago i could hear them talking this moring while i was on the phone ,But what ever he did at the other end i do not know but when we hung up it stopped all together,can anyone tell me whats going on ?
the freg lets say its 453.250 and i put it in .
well you hear nothing even when the squelch is on zippo,What should i do?,Can any one help me .Thanks

Well the first test is to make sure your scanner is working properly,... turn it off, then on again and see if it still picks up everything else.

You wrote a lot of words but didnt tell much. Location, type of scanner, freq for what, etc. Many services have freqs that are not used often. Also has the MODE been changed on your scanner. Supply more info and get better help.

I checked the archives on your posts and it looks like your sheriff's
office isn't using the Special Event freq. for dispatch anymore from the
sounds of it.

Is 453.500 still active for dispatch?

I would let your scanner search between 453.2000 up to 453.9000
and see if you can find a new freq. that they are using.

loacation in new orleans ,st,bernard sheriff,and i had a pro 91 250d and many others with the number and it was working at one time they did not change it ,its that i just can not pick it up .And yes it picks up everything encludeing the other freq for that department .
