I'm planning another trip down south and going through South Carolina via I-95. Which sites and talkgroups I need to program in to monitor SC State Police?

Also, any counties worth adding in ?

Consider using this as a reference first: http://www.radioreference.com/forum...n-forum/10846-how-scan-sc-highway-patrol.html

SCHP comms are carried on the Palmetto 800 statewide TRS.

Here are the dispatch talkgroups from south to north on Palm800:
30096, 29968, 30352, 7152, 29200, and maybe 29584?

Here are sites to monitor (there may be others, I'm just going off a quick glance at the coverage map):
37-Bluffton, 51-Jasper, 33-Yemassee, 10-Canadys, 11-Holly Hill, (23-Orangeburg), 53-Manning, 54-Lee, 56-Darlington, 40-Marion, 60-Bennettsville

Other SC guys feel free to join in if I left off any talkgroups or sites.

Hope this will get you started. Many county agencies are on the same system as SCHP and are sorted by county on the Palm800 database page. I often like to scan fire dispatch channels when I travel.

Let us know if you have other questions.

If you are using a scanner that has a setting for bit variations, set it recognize any bit variation of the talkgroups Evan listed.

Some patrol talkgroups are run in multiselect mode ... the SCHP dispatcher is handling two patrol areas simultaneously, with the two talkgroups tied together via the console.
