The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi All

Does anybody know if there is some kind of hack trick to receive iCalls using for example any of MRK, LPE or Orion GE/MA-COM radio? Or i can just listen to the iCalls that are made only to/from the radio ID number i've programmed in my radio. Thanks for any help. (I'm talkig about Edacs of course)

As far as I know, it's only the LID programmed, you need a Uniden scanner to trunk track I-calls, since the REAL radios know who they are--Next time I see my EDACS expert I'll ask him

Yes i understand, but if i want to listen to Aegis unencrypted network the only way is using GE radio. However i saw a "friend" of mine using two regular Uniden (796D and 296D) scanners connected together withs some "black box" who was listening to Aegis unencrypted conversations. I know that 296 was used to set up proper ASF groups he was interested to listening in. I suppose that the other scanner was used as a control channel listener, but he don't want me to know what was this "black box", that's why i said "friend" ;) Anyway.. using scanners it was possible to listen to every iCall and i'm looking forward to any solution which can make it possible to listen to every iCall using regular GE radio... maybe some asterisk entry trick in programming software or something...

Hmm, I think you should ask your "friend" where he got this "black box".

it's not just simple, if it was i would ask him, all i want to say is that it is possible to listen to aegis and i give my word becouse i saw it. maybe it's just some portable GE radio in this box and some microcontroler like 8051 becouse boths scanners are connected to it through RS232 ports. That would be some solution to listen iCalls, becouse Edacs radio is used only as a receiver not a controler.... i doubt this, however ... any other solutions are possible?

it might be quite difficult for a person who isn't ma/com technician i think :)
and what about PC or scanner controled GE radio? I know that there are some C libraries for GE/Ma-com programming like CommServ and MDALib. Using this method we can also monitor every ICalls and it should be less expensive than using Maestro and also You don't have to gain access to any site equipment manager. Have You got some experience using GE radios this way? (sorry for my english, it's not my primary language)
