I was wondering if I want to hear Muscatine PD & FD Communcations, do I really need a Digital-Trunking Scanner, or do I just need a Triple-Trunking Scanner? If I only need a Triple-Trunking Scanner, i can get one now, if not, i will be waiting awhile.

Thanks. Will a Uniden BC250D be able to pick up the Iowa DOT, Muscatine PD, & Muscatine FD? If so, I will look into a used model of the BC250D.

The BC250D w/ digital card can monitor Muscatine PD/FD and Iowa DOT.

As far as I know, all of the Dept of Public Safety (state patrol) dispatch and LEA repeaters in Iowa primarily still use analog. Some of the ISP simplex VHF freqs are being used in APCO digital mode. Maybe somebody has more specific info for your area in Iowa than I do.

Thanks, I finally got a UBC3300XLT with the BCi25D Card. UBC3300XLT is just like a BC250D. I noticed this can pick up RACOM/EDACS, Motorola, & NEXTEL trunked & analog systems. This will be a good scanner!
