• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Nassau's 800mhz system is digital so you won't be able to listen to that system. There should be quite a bit more to listen to though as Nassau is a fairly large island with tons of people.

The Marine Channels are very active and also check out the 2 meter Ham Band I understand that there is a repeater there and it is used for ham + non ham comms. When I was there with a Icom 2sat, I could monitor only 140 - 174 mghz and found lots too listen too. 73...Ray, kb4omo

...was stationed on Eleuthera, Bahamas in 1975. It was a very small installation. I remember listening to FM radio from Florida and WLW Cincy at night.
