Have been looking into honeymoon destinations recently and thought about the Bahamas. Does anyone have experience scanning there?

I can’t seem to find much on legality - that’s my biggest question. We are still in the process of choosing our trip, so if I can’t listen, it might be off the list!

I suspect the new wife might have other things on her mind other than watching you listen to your scanner ..... he might wanna stay single.

After 30 years of marriage and a scanner fan and retired fire department, if I was the base our destination on a trip for scanning I think my wife would quickly divorce me LOL 😏

Dude, seriously?

No kidding, she actually encouraged me to find someplace where I could listen! She loves to lie in the sun and read books so she wanted me to find something during the day.

In all honesty, I will probably set my AirSpy up to record milcom during the trip and review it later. I would love to get something new, but I’m not going to devote more than a few hours to it.

Excellent reply!

That's good, sounds like she's a keeper if she wants you to stay happy while she reads. However, 25 years of marriage has taught me that it's a real good idea to get that in writing. Just to be safe…..

Enjoy the honeymoon and congratulations!

Dude, seriously?

I understand what you are saying, and I agree with you to an extent. That said, I have several hobbies I enjoy and while the majority of my time would be spent with the missus, I think as long as those hobbies are ancillary to the honeymoon and time with my new bride, she would be supportive of me taking advantage of the remote and new place. She has several hobbies of her own that are outside of mine and we could build time to do those together and support each others adventures. I would hope most folks would have a significant other that would have accepted the entirety of you and supports your fun life, as long as the balance is achieved. To me, that is the sign of a healthy relationship.

Trust me, we have all been to a hamfest and seen the radio guys over do it hahahaha. Honestly, I think ALL hobbies have that property!

My first wife once told me "How do you enjoy anywhere we go, all you ever see of it is a tiny image through your viewfinder and some images on a computer later? Why dont you just put the camera down sometimes and enjoy the moment?"

Stuck with me ever since!
