Don't the locals speak Spanish in the Dominican Republic? Other then the airport tower you may hear little English, except for the tourist's using FRS radios. But the weather has been great. Hi 80's now in late March. Keep your camera and scanner out of the sun. Enjoy!

I have the same question as Warrior420. I'll be in Punta Cana next week and was thinking about bringing my Pro-106 along. Since this thread is a bit old, I thought I'd ask the question again to see if anybody has brought their scanner down there?

You might be able to get Port Au Prince Center on 124.5, Santo Domingo Center on 127.8/124.3/124.8, San Juan Center on 135.7/118.75/118.15. Local Airports probably on 119.0/119.3/119.75. Miami Center also on 123.775 and 132.3

I was just recently in Punta Cana for a weeks vacation.
Brought my 396T with me.

At the resort "IFA Villa Bavaros" that I stayed at, I logged the following frequencies with Close Call.

469.5750-tpl 94.8
462.8250-dpl 152
462.8125-dpl 152
462.9125-dpl 125
455.7625-tpl 123.0
460.4875-dpl 125
462.0375-dpl 125
156.8350-tpl 110.9
456.5250-csq
464.3750-mototrbo
171.4750-tpl 186.2
156.2500-tpl 123.0
456.2125-tpl 123.0

I heard no English transmissions, only Spanish.
