Here in South Jersey, it is very hard to get Montgomery county. Thats a shame. Sometimes, though I get little snippets of the control channel for the East system. I notice, that on other 800 systems such as Philadelphia, the 396 has the frequency's modulation set to FM when I set it to Auto. In Montgomery county, though, the modulation displays NFM. Would I be able to pick up the control channel better if I set it to FM?

Thanks Audiodave. Sorry for the slow response. Yeah, I didn't really think the leaves on the trees could actually interfere with the signal. The problem is around the same time they fall, I'll have to contend with the wind, and from what I saw this weekend, that can really cause problems rxing some of the farther signals, especially control channels. D<:{ Yeah, and heres the kicker, I can get Montgomery county clear as day about a mile west of where I live, and on an overpass about a mile east of where I live. Is there any justice in that?!

You may try FM, I use that for RX of PPD from down here in Delaware. Makes a big difference for sure.
The wet leaves are more trouble than dry ones...Neither compare to pine needles that are close to 800Mhz wavelength multiples. It was considered when the NJSP 800 system was put up...
