Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I have a question regarding my new Pro-528. I am just wondering how to make the scanner automatically scan IDs after it scans all the banks. I was able to do this before by just accidentally playing around with the buttons and when I turned the scanner off it went back to default conventional scan mode. I do not remember what I did to get the scanner to do this. Does anyone know what I need to do to get the scanner to scan the talk group ID's automatically on its own? I do have all the trunked frequencies and ID's programed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

SEARCH lets you hear all active TGs on the system
SCAN lets you hear only the TGs you have programmed into the scan lists.
Just push SEARCH or SCAN to change modes.
In SCAN mode it should scan one bank, then its TGs, then the next bank, then its TGs, etc. That's assuming those banks are trunked, of course.

We have a Yahoo group for the PRO-528 & the PRO-433 if you care to join. There is lots of info. in the FILES section.

I seemed to have figured it out now. Thanks for your help DickH. Do you think I can hear more with SEARCH than with SCAN?

Yes, but you may hear stuff you don't want, like school busses, garbage trucks, etc.
I look through the list of Talk Groups and choose the ones of interest to me, program them into the scan lists, then run in SCAN mode.

I have all the Talk Group ID's I want to scan programed. But I just turned the scanner back on and it went back to default scan mode and I cant get it to scan the IDs automatically again. I need to know the exact button sequence I guess. Also, when the scanner is in trunk mode I would never hear anything from the programed trunked frequencies. I turn off trunk mode and I can hear the trunked frequencies.

Ask in the PRO-433 group. Then the answer may help someone else, too.
Also, which system(s) are you trying to monitor? We need to know so we can check the programming.
