Scanning

I have a Uniden BCD996XT scanner. When the scanner stops on a stored frequency it displays
the frequency but while it broadcasts, a (second frequency also flashes) making it difficult to know
which freq. is transmitting.
Can someone tell me if I have an incorrect setting or is this normal?

Could you have a different frequency set as a Priority and the scanner is checking that frequency? If that's not it, check WX and see if you have it set for weather alerts.

What I think you are seeing is the control channel freq1 and voice channel freq2 and if your scanner does ID's you chould see fleet id then radio id.

I suspect Tone Search is turned on for the channel. The flashing frequency would be the subtone in used on the frequency (CTCSS or DCS).
