I bought a Scannocular for $10 the other day .Don't ask ,it seemed like a good idea at the time and it was only ten bucks. However I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do any programming.Any one have a link to a manual or copy of one they could send as an attachment? It seems that information on these are difficult to find at least for me.

I seem to remember that those radios were actually Uniden SC-180 or SC-200 radios inside.
Those were actually pretty nice receivers so it may turn out to be a decent conventional scanner.
Let us know how it works out... Best of luck...

I have a few freqs. entered . It seems to be working just fine. I wish it had wall wart power but for $10.00 I'll get my money's worth out of it.

Wow! I didn't even know they made something like this. Anyone know how much these cost when they first came out or what year?

Late 90's, early 2000. They were around $120. Wally-world used to sell them. They were marketed big time here in the land of NASCAR. Never could get a handle on this one though:)

A nice feature on the scannocular is that the display lights up when it picks up a transmission. I will find a use for it.

that radio goes for about 60$ use at places like universal radio, so you locked onto a good deal!

I just got a Scannoculars off of Listia.com today (it arrived in the mail today). Has anyone found a manual for it yet? I have found out a few things about the scanner so far.

1 You can separate the radio from the binoculars and use them separately.
2 The binoculars spec are 8x25, 314ft/1000yds, field 6 degrees.
3 The radio will receive the am airplane transmissions. Some scanners say thay can receive the am
transmissions from airplanes but in reality can only receive fm modulation and depend on a cheap
slide slope modulation to receive the am modulation. It is a cheap way to cut corners in building the
scanner (less parts).
4 I have been living on a government monthly disability check most of my live and learned the ins and outs
of safe jarry rigging. I think I have found a way to add an external power jack to this radio.
