Anybody else using this combination?I'm finding upgrading to be a pain. The Latest version of Spectrum Commander won't even launch for me.I've also gone back to the original Spectrum Explorer software I purchased since I was getting so many missed calls on the Motorola systems (verified by a Uniden truntracker).I was ready to send the Optocom in for repairs.

Good thing I switched back to the old software, Motorola trunking works fine.LTR trunking doesn't work with it, but nothing really interesting here anyways.

So, I do like the software, just not the bugs.Maybe enabling support for so many radios is a mistake.I'm thinking it would be better if each model/make of radio had separate software.

Sam (support)always gets back to me, but issues are still unresolved. The radio is working properly.

I am also having a problem with the software launching after installing the latest version. I filled out a technical support request form on their website last night and i'm waiting for Sam to get back to me.

Any time i've had to put in for support requests, Sam has been very responsive. Usually i'll get a response back from him within a day and a new version of the software shortly there after. I have nothing but praise for him and the company - it's an excellent piece of software for the optocom. Point & Click and a tactical screen.

Since i've posted last, i went back to the website to see what the current version is. I'm getting their "webpage cannot be found" message. Same goes for their link to download the software - This must mean that they now know about the bug and currently working on a fix. I would imagine that the problem will be solved sometime today.

Thanks for the reply!

I have contacted Sam on quite a few ocassions. He was always prompt & helpful, although we didn't resolve my Motorola issue.I guess we exhausted most of the common problems.I'll just stick with Spectrum Explorer 8.35 because upgrading just starts the Motorola tracking problem with missed calls.

I have firmware 1.4 on the Optocom.I never got the 1.5 CPU upgrade, maybe that has something to do with it?Or maybe something was changed after 8.35 that started my problems.

Anyways i guess I'll just stick with the old software version since it works so well. The Optocom is an awesome receiver that was ahead of it's time. The Scanstar software is the best option for this radio.

Motorola tracking works fine in CI-V mode (subaudible detection) with all software versions. But I prefer C.C. scanning because it's faster.

Hmm...my bad.I just ran the Optocom utility, I DO have CPU firmware 1.5, so I can't even blame that. The Spectrum Commander software is still not available on the website BTW.I assume they are working on a bugfix for the last version. It installed fine but wouldn't launch.
