I just purchased a Scantenna and I want to feed with with LMR 400. The antenna requires an "F" connector at the feedpoint. How did you adapt the LMR 400 to an "F" connector (since an "f" connector won't fit onto LMR 400)?

Thanks in advance.

You can also custom-order lengths of LMR-400 with custom connectors from the site in Scanner Freak's post. I have used them in the past.

If you're going to make the investment in LMR400, then by all means, try and get the custom connectors. Adapters cause line loss; higher the frequency, the higher the loss.

I used Tessco(.com) for LMR-400 paying them $7 each to terminate and test. F to BNC from an antenna down to a scanner or a multicoupler.

I had the dilemna using RG-8U cable with a Scantenna, as an F connector is required for the balun connection on the antenna. So I had the RG-8/u terminated with BNC on both ends (F connector wont fit cable this size), and used a BNC to F adapter to connect to the antenna.
