Scappoose Fire and Police are on vhf analog system, so you shouldn't have problem programming the vhf freqs in the scanner. Follow the info in the maunal and you should have no problems.

Columbia County uses narrow band FM (12.5k spacing) instead of wide (25k) so the audio will be quieter than on for instance a trunked channel.

You'll also notice that the PD 700 units (if memory serves, Scappoose) are using MDC1200 data to identify their portables and vehicles. It's muted by their radios, but is somewhat annoying to other radio users and scanner listeners.

Fire/Amb depts here on coast have started Using MDC1200. Did Columbia county go Narrow band when they swiched to there system there on now?

Here's the repeater list for Columbia County.
154.130 186.2 Fire Dispatch F1
153.875 186.2 MEDNET F2
154.740 186.2 Fire Tac-3
154.875 186.2 Fire Tac-4
154.785 186.2 Law Enforce. Ops L1
154.710 186.2 Law Enforce. Support L2
154.830 186.2 Law Enforce. Chat L3
154.355 203.5 Common L5/F5

Wish there was a scanner that could decode the MDC1200 status messaging. Weyerhaeuser uses it as well.
