Where is the tower for this system? I have yet to hear it over in Rensselaer County. TG's?

That's a license for the Albany cell, not Schenectady.

The guy didn't ask about either of those counties. He ask where the tower was because he can't hear it in Renessler county. There is a tower on that license, in Renessler county. The power output on that license seems to be questionable though.

Getting 851.2875 with NAC of 694. I will try to put in the frequencies later to see what I can hear.

He is already familiar with the Albany cells...he was asking about the Schenectady cell, which is the topic of this thread.

Ok. I have it in my PSR 500 and in my G5. Just heard ”10116” using wildcards. Will keep listening.

I also heard activity on TG 10116 with some encryption, it also displayed p252 at times. sounded like police with mention of a canine unit. it was only heard on the Schenectady county site.

Yes. That’s what I’m listening to also. Schenectady County.

I have it on priority to see if i can catch some more activity and identify the TG. I heard most of the activity earlier this afternoon.

The only agency using the system right now is the Sheriffs road patrol , so I am not sure how many TGs will be heard. I tried putting the system into my PSR500 and not hearing anything. Would someone mind confirming the frequencies, plus the way I need to program them in and if it's P25 system. I am terrible with trunking setups

851.2875,851.8500,852.0750 and 852.3500 are the only frequencies that are listed in the database and the ones i have entered in my scanner.

Since it’s a simulcast system, it may not come in well on the PSR 500. At least that was always my experience. Hence, the G5! Your mileage may vary!

Betting that like the "County tower" the TG's are only using the local tower. I heard 10116 on Sunday when I was in Carlisle but I have yet to hear it in Rensselaer County. Will add 10116 to my SDS100 and will see if that will improve reception.

Just to be clear, you're aware that Schenectady County has its own simulcast cell on this system, separate from the Albany cells, correct? It sounds like you're expecting to hear Schenectady talkgroups coming over either one or both of the Albany cells.

If you're unable to get a good lock on the Schenectady County control channel from your location, then you're probably not going to hear any of those talkgroups, unless they're allowed to roam to an Albany County cell and a unit actually affiliates to drag the traffic over.

I was hoping it would be simulcast at the beginning as Albany was, but last several months even the Albany "county" cell is not simulcasting with the "Metro" cell so I am resigned to poor to no reception on the 325p2 and WS1040. Sigh.

I’m locked onto the system with my setup I’m to far away to receive voice traffic but on the data side there’s not much I have possibly false decodes for a tg 23 and 27 is anyone else seeing something similar?
