Schertz Area MPSAC fleet and talkgroup

Heard Schertz dispatch telling their fire units about a new fleet and talkgroup..She said the new fleet is called MPSAC and the talkgroup is 8 TAC David. Never heard of this before.

I didn't hear that. I do know that the Live Oak system was having a problem this morning. I did hear Schertz tell the fire an ems to switch back.

They probably said NPSPAC and the channel was 8TACxxD with the D meaning direct. The NPSPAC channels are nationwide interop channels and are listed here: Common/Shared Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Yeah I found out, they use the 800mhz inter-op channels as back-up in case the system fails( the ones linked above, thanks btw). As a third back-up they have their old vhf channel.

The dispatcher spelled it out to the units over the radio and she spelled MPSAC..I am sure it is the same but maybe they have it tagged differnet...I am sure this is the first time they have used them.
