Schertz EMS is now using the auto dispatch on there primary channel(TG 706) full-time now and EMS-1 (TG 369) is a response channel but it is patched to the primary TG 706 and to the vhf 156.015. Seems a little confusing to have everyone respond on a different channel when it is patched to the dispatch channel anyways

Yup, the tones go off a computerized voice that sounds like the noaa weather radio guy dispatches the call, the dispatcher are still there to talk to the units but the call itself is sent out by the auto dispatcher

As in, there is no live person at a computer dispatching over the radio? Its all done by computer?

Except that the dispatcher is still receiving the call and inputting the information. From there the computer knows which units to send (based on address, type of call parameters and if the unit is busy or not at that moment). It can help reduce mix ups, but the units will still usually call and ask for more information from the dispatcher.

Schertz has been testing the auto dispatch system for the last two months. Yesterday They started to use it primarily.
