Was just wondering why School Districts are allowed on Calls Platform, but not on a regular Broadcastify feed under the TOS? Not that I want to stream school feeds, just seems odd to ban on one and not all feeds due to the under age aspect.

I guess I just "open the firehose" from my local trunked site to Calls using SDRTrunk and let the Admins sort it out.

We allow everything to be sent to the calls platform, and you are allowed to access everything you send up to us. That's a benefit of the "platform" for calls providers - you get a could based solution to access everything you can capture.

We restrict access to Schools, Law Tac etc talkgroups to the general public.

You send everything. We sort it out here. It's that simple.

Glad to hear I'm using it correctly!

I wasn't talking about things I send to Calls, I'm talking about schools sent to Calls by someone else that are accessible by everyone in the TxWARN listings.

I do understand how Calls Platform works, and I can send stuff that only I can access.

While the Calls Platform does automatically filter out TGs not permitted, it depends on the tags in the database, if these are not tagged correctly then the Calls Platform can not automatically filter them. Looking at the database it appears a number of school district PDs are listed as Law Dispatch rather than schools (see examples below).

Your better course of action, rather than creating a thread about it, would be submit a correction to the database asking the Tag to be corrected/Updated.

Well that would explain it. Will submit the corrections.

EDIT: Corrections have been submitted.
Not so fast. If the school district employees sworn police officers, and they provide police protection, then the Law tags are correct.

The Law, Fire, and EMS tags always override "lesser" tags like Business, Schools, etc. They even override the Federal and Military tags where appropriate, such as Military Police which is tagged as Law, not Military.

Please read this section of the Database Administrator Handbook before jumping to incorrect conclusions:

I stand corrected, and while the explanation of why they show up on the calls platform seems to be accurate, the action I suggested is not.

Thanks for the clarification @GTR8000

Ok, read the list, so now I'm really confused, you can stream Security/Law which often gives juvenile names and info, but you can't stream schools, school buses, football games. maintenance, or anything else related to a school.

Doesn't make common sense to me, but then I'm from TEXAS where we actually use common sense!

No its real simple. If its a law enforcement dispatch (sworn officers) then its fair game regardless of what info is given. If its internal school chatter then its schools tag.
