If you're in Leesville as your profile indicates, Plum Branch may be a little too far out of range, depending on the antenna you're using. The Johnston site is your best bet.

Are you hearing any communication from the site? You don't indicate what radio you're using. Are you certain that you're able to hear the site at all?

If you're hearing any traffic from the site, and just not able to received SCHP Troop 2, keep in mind that SCHP uses a lot of patching of talkgroups. This means that, again depending on the radio you're using, you may not always hear SCHP traffic on the Edgefield/Saluda dispatch talkgroup. I'd program all 3 Troop 2 dispatch talkgroups and see if you can hear any of them. Chances are, they're all patched together and being worked by a single dispatcher.

Another thing you need to keep in mind also when trying to listen to Troop 2 in Saluda County. As you probably know sometimes only 1 or 2 troopers are working a 3 county area. These would be McCormick, Edgefield and Saluda. I live in Edgefield County and can often hear traffic of troopers working wrecks and stuff up on I-26 and I 385. You will only hear a trooper in Saluda County if he/she is affliated with the control channel you are monitoring. Brian may can explain this more fully. The main thing if there is no trooper in your area you may not get something you may think you should be getting. But you definitely need to program all the talkgroups into your scanner.

Also, this weekend, several times I noticed that Troop 2 was being handled by the Aiken/Orangeburg dispatch. My P2 was showing 50204/50201 off the Aiken Pal800 antenna.

Did anyone catch the SCANG exercise over Lake Murray this weekend? Very interesting!
