Schp troop 5

Anyone know what's going on with troop 5 I have noticed that I'm not hearing any units in the horry or Georgetown area I'm still getting everything up in the pee Dee region have they went encrypted down that way I did hear a unit say something about he couldn't make contact with units that way because his radio hadn't been reprogrammed yet

I don't know anything definitive, so this is pure speculation.

SCHP uses a lot of patching of talkgroups due to staffing issues at dispatch centers. That trend has increased markedly over the last 5 years or so.

In my experience when visiting the Grand Strand area, it seemed to me that Horry Co SCHP was generally on a designated channel to themselves, while Georgetown/Williamsburg was generally patched with Florence/Marion/Dillon/Darlington. Perhaps that arrangement has changed, and Georgetown/Williamsburg is now patched to Horry?

Yes that does happen but they are still dispatched out of the Florence center they do sometimes patch horry with other talkgroups in the pee Dee region but I haven't heard anything from that way since yesterday I have heard other units around the Florence area on the horry gtown talkgroups but not any in the horry gtown area guess they are using the horry system
