scottsbluff going the big E next year?

was told by a Scottbluff pd officer that sbpd is going to encrypt next year. i can only assume gearing and sheriffs will follow suit.

***Sigh*** another one bites the dust......

When they went to the 800 system several years ago some encryption was used but the system wasn't able to decode clearly so mostly used cell phone for sensitive information. Could be newer radios that will use the state system will be in place by then.

yes he mentioned going to the state trs. is it just city of scottsbluff, or is the whole county migrating? it certainly would be nice as a compromise if they would add an official feed like omaha did and just delay it by 10 minutes.

Depends on every town. Not sure how your state trunk works but mine in ct each town has the option to go and test it out before they sign a contact. The trunk doesn’t work for all towns(mainly because of mountains) so they build their own trunk or stay analog.
